Community Services Health Care 1 . Glenns Ferry Health Center (GFHC) is a non-profit, private corporation which began operations in 1982 and celebrated its twenty-fifth year of operation as a Community Health Center in 2007. The service area includes Elmore County and portions of Owyhee County where a satellite health center opened in Grandview in 1984.In April 1998 services expanded to Mountain Home assuring access, particularly, to low-income, uninsured migrant seasonal farm works and Medicare/Medicaid populations. The service area of 25,231 is based on 2006 estimates. GFHC projects 6,952 users and 31,283 medical/dental visits in fiscal years 2007/2008. 2. Services Provided GFHC provides primary, preventive, obstetrical, behavioral and dental health care services to the Community of Elmore County. In addition, eligibility assistance and case management services for prenatal, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease patients are provided. Several outreach activities include: Indigent Medication Program, community health fair, free fluoride varnish applications for eight year olds scheduled at local schools between the months of February and March, school physicals and immunization, an on-site helipad for transporting patients in the event of serious emergencies. 3. Hours of Operation Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 am-5:30 pm Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 am-5:30 pm (1st shift) Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 am-7:30 pm (2nd shift) 4. Physicians and Staff Glenns Ferry Health Center employees three, full-time Physicians; one Physicians Assistant (recruiting two additional PAs); one Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC); one Licensed Social Worker/Licensed Professional Counselor (LSW/LPC); one full-time dentist and one part-time dentist. The support staff includes: Three Registered Nurses (RN), four Medical Assistants (MA), three Dental Assistants (DA), eight Front Office Staff, one A/R Co-ordinator, one A/R Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Office Manager (OM), Finance Officer (FO), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
