Welcome:  The Visual Arts Committee of the Mountain Home Arts Council is presenting the 3nd Annual Three Island Crossing Art Show, August 7-8, 2009 at Carmela Winery & Restaurant in Glenns Ferry, Idaho.  The art show is a juried fine art and folk art show held in conjunction with the 23rd Annual Re-enactment of the Oregon Trail Three Island Crossing. The show will benefit visual artist programs associated with the Mountain Home Arts Council.

New Features:

#1  Artist Demonstrations:   this year we are encouraging Artist Demonstrations on Friday afternoon and plan on advertising this event to bring more people out on Friday.  If you would like to demonstrate your art please let us know.  We will provide booth support if you need it while demonstrating.  If you need an area outside of your booth space, we will provide that for you.  Your acceptance into the show is NOT dependent on you demonstrating your art

#2  Artist Challenge and Prize Money:  One of our local artists, photographer Jerry Kencke has provided the image of the Bruneau Desert Sunset you see across the top of this application.   We are challenging each participating artist to interpret this image by creating a work of art in their medium.   All entries should be for sale and will be shown in a group display.  The public will vote on their “People’s Choice” and the artist of the winning entry will receive a $100 prize award.   The original piece by Jerry Kencke will be shown, but will not be eligible for the award.  For a better copy of the image, please contact Jerry or Cindy at (208) 580-0026 or JKencke@aol.com .  Participating artists need to provide their own display easel for their entry.  Display Tables will be available.
